Upon identifying a serious gap in the dating app market two years ago, founders Sam Atwood and Jack Delehey decided to develop their own dating app called Hooked, which is being marketed exclusively to UMiami students.  Per the founders, “Those on a college campus want to meet others on that same college campus.  The randomness of Tinder just doesn’t cut it for college kids.  And so, Hooked was born.  It is, in essence, more of a crush app than a dating app.  Identities are only revealed if interest is mutual.”

With over 1,000 active users, the app is gaining serious traction at UMiami ahead of its official launch date on 4/22.  The official launch will be commemorated by a launch party at Club Cameo where hundreds of UMiami students are expected to attend.

Sam and Jack say that they will soon look to expand beyond the world of college campuses and will likely target the Miami club scene next.
