Ladies and gentlemen, Coral Gables has come out to play! We all see how our city is becoming a great metropolis while catering to all groups; your foodies, fashionistas, hipsters, party goers, (the list goes on). The city life in downtown and the beach continues being renovated and upgraded. While it seemed that Coral Gables was falling behind, guess again. With it’s architecture and historic style, Coral Gables has decided to do more.
Last Friday October 13th, 2017, Coral Gables has introduced the rebirth of Giralda Avenue. For those who need us to refresh their memory, Giralda Avenue offers restaurants and bars to indulge, but now with a new look. Giralda Avenue has now converted into a walkway where pedestrians can now make their way across on foot.
During the grand opening of Giralda Plaza, we were able to enjoy the smooth sounds of local bands while making our way into each restaurant which set up tables for locals to experience “El Fresco” dining and enjoy the scenery. The same restaurants made themselves present like, The Bar, La Dorada, and Threefold Cafe. Most of the street venues remain with one exception. The Church of Scientology has moved locations and the venue is now in the remodeling phase. The space will become a market with a sit down area and a rooftop bar which we look forward to visiting once completed.
Overall, the evening was great. The ambiance was very Miami, locals enjoying a clear sky night, music and restaurants under the stars. Next time you’re in the area, do a double take and stop by Giralda Plaza. It is a nice addition to the already beautiful Coral Gables.
