Who needs snow when we have the sandiest beaches of all? Indeed, our holidays won’t be covered in snow, but the enjoyment and merriness will be ever so present. Fun fact: Florida hasn’t recorded snow since the 70s! It doesn’t seem to be different this time. Nonetheless, the spirits are high, and the crowds are ready to celebrate. Whether you are looking for typical activities or more exclusive events, here’s a tiny (and, we do mean little!) sample of the myriad of events coming ahead.
Holiday Village. How can we even say Christmas and not mention a tree? The 100-foot Xmas tree -one of the tallest in the state -is not the real deal. But, who cares? It’s equally impressive and beautiful. Other Holiday Village activities include a carousel, skating rink, photos with Santa, and holiday movie nights. Tuesday, November 30, through Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Old School Square, 51 N. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach; 561-243-7250; 100footchristmastree.com. Admission is free; the carousel and skating rink are $3 each.

Dora and Diego -Let’s Explore! Wanting to take advantage of the kids’ days off? If you haven’t already been there, this is a great time! Are you looking to celebrate New Year’s the LGTB way? Then check out what Out Magazine calls “Queerechella,” a three-day New Year’s experience you’ll find only in Miami Beach. This LGBTQ+ event is headlined by pop diva Kim Petras and features performances by Sofi Tukker, Purple Disco Machine, Todrick Hall, and others. Pollen, the event organizer, recommends booking the entire experience with a stay at Clevelander South Beach, the host hotel. All are open-air events, including daytime wellness sessions, pool parties, and evening celebrations. Interested? Click here for more info: Miami Beach
Do you see? Miami, and surrounding areas, will be plagued with events and occurrences for all ages and tastes. Perhaps all you want to do is enjoy a lovely brunch with your family at Las Olas Boulevard. It doesn’t matter if you’re going to catch our favorite Latina kid or toast at the Wharf, be safe, and have lots of fun. Make a list of your resolutions, and let’s all hope for a better, safer, and brighter 2022!
