Tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey with music, when did you start?
My name is Yung Dani D’Lo. I’m a 21 year old entertainment enthusiast born in Yonkers, NY. I come from Half-Colombian Half Argentinian Descent, as I like to call it the “Chelombiano” mix.
When I was a young kid, my mom was involved in a really nasty car accident, in which a drunk driver hit her on a head on collision at a red light going 110 MPH. She sadly passed away upon impact, but was thankfully resuscitated moments later in the ambulance through CPR and shocks. She couldn’t recover in the tremendously cold climate, which then initiated the calling to move to the place I was raised in and so deeply love and represent: Broward County, Florida.
Having been born and raised in areas and in a family that was deeply influenced by music culture, I gained the admiration for many Spanish and English music genres such as Reggaeton, Hip-Hop, Vallenato, Cumbia, R&B, and Salsa. Also gaining an admiration for many artists such as Nicky Jam, Daddy Yankee, Juanes, DMX, Ja Rule, and 50 Cent.
I always considered myself as a creative kid as I always discovered new ways to entertain myself. Always trying new things and hobbies, which is where I found my passion for music free-styling at the cafeteria tables, mostly initiating during my Millenium Middle School years.
Thinking it was all fun and games, I became hooked on the idea of dropping riddles and discovering new rhythms which then inspired me to make my first song when I was 13 years old. I’ll never forget recording my first ever track called “The Breeze” using the voice memo app on my iPad, playing the beat through my computer, and reading the lyrics out of an old notebook. Later would I come to find out, that that moment sparked the journey in which I live to this very day.
What or who motivates you in life?
What’s one big thing if you could, you would change about yourself?
Evolution is the main philosophy that motivates me in life. Everyday I wake up, I feel very gracious to God and believe that if I’m still waking up everyday, it’s to fulfill a bigger purpose and conquer greater accomplishments. I dedicate myself everyday to be at least 1% better in some sort of shape, aspect, or form to not only help further my career but to also inspire my community, supporters, family, and friends to never limit themselves and chase their most deep aspirations. To ultimately become better selves and to keep evolving no matter how good or bad their living circumstances or conditions may be.
The people that motivate me the most in life are my parents. My Pops travelled all the way from Medellin, Colombia on foot, car, swimming through dangerous rivers and cruising through dangerous territories to conquer his aspiration of living the “American Dream”. Hopping the border in the early 90s and working very hard day in and day out, 80-90 hour weeks, to teach my siblings and I the concept that absolutely nothing in life is just handed or gifted out and that you have to discipline yourself to work harder than ever to achieve what you want to accomplish. Also, while having my mother motivate me in many ways by teaching me support, loyalty, and love which are all characteristics that have helped me get to where I am and to where I’m heading. Also carrying that strong work ethic like my Pops. That workaholic duo pushed me to strive and bare the difficulties and curves thrown at you in life and to keep pushing no matter what.
The main thing I would change about myself is my vulnerability of falling into bad habits. With so much pressure that builds up within me of having to handle all my daily tasks and chores both in my personal life and business career, I tend to fall into acts of drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, smoking, lust, and gambling. As I believe I can still balance everything and complete my necessary duties, I don’t believe it’s still an excuse to fall into negative habits and battle to turn them down a notch everyday.
What has Life taught you recently compared to 10 years ago?
Recently, life has taught me to never stay comfortable. Many opportunities, people, and circumstances come and go and it is very important to stay on your toes and be able to adapt to whatever curve ball may be thrown at you. You can’t get too comfortable and expect for everything to always go your way. You must face adversity and keep it pushing no matter what.
The best individuals and accomplishments aren’t determined when succeeding in results when everything is going in your favor. But it is determined when it may seem as if the entire world is crashing down and going against you but you can still put your game act on and go out there and make the absolute most out of anything you want to make possible.
Why have you kept going?
I’ve kept going for many reasons but my 3 main reasons are: To leave a legacy, For my fallen soldiers that God has not allowed to keep going, and also because I Iove what I’m doing, it’s my passion.
I would hate to be forgotten when it is my time to leave this world. I would love to leave a legacy, a blueprint for many kids and communities to follow in order to never settle for less. To be an example for the next generations to keep striving and doing what they love. To change the world for the better.
My fallen soldiers are a very special subject to me as I’ve had many friends and family members that have passed away. My hardest ones to have had let go of were: one of my best homies “Isiah Belle” that passed away at the young age of 19 from a drug overdose, my “Titi” Mariana Boscarino (auntie) that passed away at the age of 41 from a surgical malpractice at the hospital after intending to get her tubes tied, and my grandmother “Ma” Noemi Boscarino at age of 71 after many health complications due to her COVID infliction. My main philosophies when it comes down to my fallen soldiers are to do things they would’ve loved to see you do and to do things they would’ve loved to do themselves. Graciously, they all supported my music career so I push to prove them right after they had always affirmed me that I would make it big.
Lastly, doing what I love gives me a sense of enjoying life to the fullest. As stressful as the process can become sometimes, I’m in love with the journey. I don’t do what I do for money and fame. I do it because it’s my passion and making people dance, spreading laughter, and making people feel happy in moments of hard times. You never know what people may be going through, and being a component in spreading hope and positivity upon the masses is more than any compensation for me. This world can get too cruel, therefore I become more and more motivated after every show, interaction, song, or whatever it is, in hopes to reach a bigger audience and spread my entertainment to a larger scale.
Describe your worst heartbreak. What did it teach you?
My worst heartbreak almost got the worst of me. Many situations occurred in which I may not have gotten the chance to be here right now conducting this interview, but thankfully God gave me the willpower, courage, and faith to push past it and embrace the better future which awaits me.
My worst heartbreak taught me many things such as: stop thinking with my penis and start thinking with my brain, to trust my gut instinct, and that there is a major difference between bitches, ladies, and sisters.
As I stated earlier, lust can be a huge complication for me at times. Sometimes you may be confused with love and lust and it’s important to distinguish between the two. To this day, something tells me that I loved the girl with whom I had my worse heartbreak with. But I’ve came to realize she never really did anything for me but distract me and knock me off my pivot. Lust can really take over a man’s life especially in today’s day and age.
Many times in my life, I’ve committed errors in which I felt like something was telling me to avoid. The many times I’ve ignored it, is when I’ve suffered the most. Always listen to your gut as that is the Holy Spirit trying to guide you for your sake and prohibit you from putting yourself in a predicament that may inflict your destiny in a negative manner.
Lastly, I respect females very much and adore their beauty and role in this world. However it’s important to know that not all females are equal. There are bitches, ladies, and sisters.
Bitches are what we know as the modern day Gold Diggers, OnlyFans hoes, Strippers, Prostitutes that will be with any man, despite of age or status, because of what the man can provide for them short-term: A fancy night out, a designer bag, a short vacation or whatever other short-term gratification they can enjoy in the time being. Bitches primarily live in a depressed mind state and use the dopamine of short-term gratification to ease them away from reality. They live with absolutely no morals and always find an excuse for their actions instead of taking accountability. They push the blame of their sad lifestyles upon others and manipulate others in ways you would not even morally imagine (especially if they are Colombian or Puerto Rican), constantly live a life of misconduct and never consider their future wellbeing, nor the wellbeing of their children, families, or overall happiness. They hate getting confronted of their immoral acts and are the worst listeners on the planet. Straight up toxic and lack God to the most highest extent.
Ladies are the females that push themselves to stay morally clean and live a healthy lifestyle without the intention of hurting anyone spiritually, mentally, and physically. Ladies have ethics to become better humans and push a positive agenda for the world and communities we live in to contribute positively to society other than just having fake bodies or intentions to destroy others.
Then you have your sisters, your sisters are like ladies but love and nurture you and wish the absolute best for you. They do whatever they can to support and put you up on a pedestal and show you your worth. They love and respect you and hold you accountable for your wrongdoings for your own best interest. Sisters will never take advantage of you or use you and will remain loyal no matter the circumstances you or she may be in.
Overall, it’s important to respect each and stay on top of your morals, especially when it comes down to females and wish nothing but the best for each type. Because whatever you put out, comes back to you. So never wish nothing too terrible for anyone because you never know what your destiny might bring.
