Meet the beautiful and talented Perla Chicas. We met her last year during the Miss DAER 2024 Bikini competition, and she placed in the top 5 finalists. Now, thanks to our photographer Lee Jarrett, we got a chance to sit down with her and get to know her a little.
Perla, thank you for allowing us to feature you on GLM Magazine!
Tell us a little about yourself and tell us what motivates you in life?
Absolutely! My three daughters would be my greatest motivation. Everything I do is for them.
2. What’s something you have been told that you will never forget?
Honestly, when the owner of my hair salon told me
“I am a strong woman and I can do whatever I want.”
I will never forget that. He is very successful and for him to recognize my strength was flattering
3. What has made the biggest impact on your life and why?
My decision to come to America. I came here by myself with no family and no friends. I was very scared, but it for sure made, not only the biggest impact on my life, but also the biggest impact on the life of my daughters.

4. Can you share some of the highlights of your modeling journey so far? Any memorable moments, locations, or experiences?
I would say all the places I have been able to travel to as a result of modeling. On top of that, I’ve also made some amazing friends through my modeling journey which I’m incredibly grateful for too.
5. Can you tell us a favorite or best location where you’ve had a photo shoot?
As simple as this sounds I would say anytime I’m at the beach. The beach is one of my favorite places and brings me peace. Anytime I get to go, it is a blessing.

6. How do you prepare for a modeling shoot? Any pre-shoot rituals or routines?
Workout for sure. I work out as much as possible, but I always need to work out before a shoot because it makes me calm and focused.
7. How is your nationality mix? What are your parents’ nationalities?
100% Honduran. Born and raised as are both my parents

8. What are your future goals and aspirations?
To continue to grow my modeling career and take this to the highest level possible. At some point in time, I would also love to start a business.
9. How do you balance your modeling career with your family life?
This is a great question, and at times, honestly, I don’t know haha. I’m balancing modeling, work, and taking care of my babies all at the same time. Some days are definitely harder than others, but with the help of friends and a lot of driving, I make it work.

10. Finally, what message or image do you hope to convey to other young models out there?
The same thing I say to my daughters.
You can do whatever you want in life and don’t let anyone or anything ever hold you back from your dreams.
