Meet the lovely Sally Mae. Stylish, grounded, and quietly radiant, she carries a sense of confidence that comes from knowing who she is. Fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and fitness aren’t just labels for her — they are the rhythm of her everyday life, woven naturally into how she expresses herself.

Captured beautifully by photographer Matthew Kirvitsky, these images reflect the grace and intention behind her presence. Growing up in a small town, Sally always had an eye for creativity and connection — and now she shares that journey with others, reminding us that authenticity is its own form of beauty.

Sally, thank you for allowing us to feature you in GLM Magazine. Your story is a reminder that you can come from the quietest places and still build the biggest dreams.

Your hoo.be profile lists “Fashion. Beauty. Lifestyle. Fitness.” — How did you land on that mix? Which of those is your primary driving passion right now?
Those four just naturally became part of my life. Fashion lets me express myself, beauty keeps me confident, and lifestyle is everything in between. Travel, food, and daily life and fitness keep me balanced

When did you first realize that modeling or content creation was something you wanted to pursue?
Growing up in a small town, I was always the girl taking photos and putting outfits together, even if it was just in my backyard. But I realized I wanted to take it seriously when people started connecting with my posts. It made me realize I could inspire others just by being myself. My first real shoot sealed the deal; I knew I’d found something I truly loved.

Balancing multiple content areas can be tough — how do you keep everything cohesive? I try to treat my page like a story. Fashion, fitness, beauty, travel, and lifestyle are all part of who I am. I plan ahead but also leave room to be spontaneous. The key for me is staying consistent in my tone and making sure every post still feels like “me.”

What’s a behind-the-scenes ritual from a shoot fans wouldn’t guess?
I always take a minute before shooting to pray or just say something positive to myself. It helps me feel calm and confident. And I usually have a matcha nearby, that’s definitely my goodluck charm.

How do you stay authentic when trends change so fast?
I think authenticity is what keeps people connected. If something feels true to me, I’ll try it, but I never want to lose my own voice just to fit in. I love taking trends and making them my own rather than copying what everyone else is doing.

Fitness is part of your brand — how does it influence your image?
Fitness is what keeps me centered. I work out not just to look good but to feel strong mentally. I think confidence really comes from showing up for yourself, and that’s what I try to reflect in my content.

Congratulations on placing first in the Miss DAER 2025 preliminaries! How was that experience?
Thank you! It was such a surreal moment. I went to Florida to compete, and it pushed me way out of my comfort zone in the best way. I’ve always loved challenging myself, and walking that stage felt empowering. Meeting so many inspiring women made it even more special.

Have you faced any challenges while growing your platform?
Absolutely. It’s easy to doubt yourself or feel overwhelmed by comparison online. I’ve learned to take breaks when I need them and to remind myself why I started. Staying grounded, leaning on my faith, and remembering my roots in South Dakota always helps me refocus.

How do you balance real life with your online image?

I share a lot of my life, but I definitely keep certain things private. It’s nice having a part of my life that’s just for me. I think that balance keeps everything healthy.

Where do you see your brand in the next 2–3 years?

I see my brand growing into more lifestyle and fashion projects — maybe launching something of my own one day. I also want to travel more and work with brands around the world, but I’ll always carry that small-town heart with me wherever I go

What advice would you give to someone just starting out?

Start now and be yourself. Don’t wait until everything feels perfect; it never will. Be consistent, be kind, and don’t compare your chapter one to someone else’s chapter ten

If readers could take away one message from your journey, what would it be?

That you can come from the smallest town and still build the biggest dreams. Never let where you start limit where you’re going.
