Welcome April!
Did you see the prank a little girl played on her Oscar-winning mother, telling her that she ought to return the award? You gotta love April Fools’ Day – whose origin is still unknown, by the way, but it has become one of America’s most beloved unofficial holidays. Maybe its popularity has to do with the month itself; there’s something about April, right? Old folks tales assure there’s something in the air that makes kids more boisterous, as if something stirs inside us. The month where we shake off some of the coziness of the winter and fully embark on a spring adventure!
And since adventure is Miami’s middle name, we have a few suggestions on how to spend the rest of the month. Follow us:

The River Cities Festival. (April 14-16). Where can you enjoy three days of food, shopping, live entertainment, music, and more? The River Cities Festival! Have fun with the whole family whether your thing is salsa dancing, competing in a chili cook-off, eating the chili from a cook-off, running the annual 5K race, watching dog shows… The list goes on. The Spongebob Musical. (April 8) Hurry up and get ready to relive your favorite Nickelodeon series on broadway this year at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts. Join SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, and the rest of the gang as they fight to save Bikini Bottom from impending doom. Get your tickets HERE!

SOFLO Cake & Candy Expo (April 28-30). The SOFLO Cake & Candy Expo is ideal for hobby bakers and professionals alike. Spend a sweet weekend filled with classes, cake competitions, demonstrations, and more! You can find it all at the Miami Airport Convention Center this April. For more info and tickets click HERE
Flower Festival at the Berry Farm (March 18 – April 16). Get ready to dance amid rows of towering sunflowers, perfect for Instagram-worthy photos. Also check out the blooming marigolds, zinnias and orchids, and find your way through a flower maze. Expect special events and delicious menu items. Interested? Click HERE for more details.
International Agriculture, Horse and Cattle Show. (April 14-16) Are we in Montana? Or Texas? No! this is happening right here in Miami. If you have an interest in farming and livestock – or simply love animals – head to the Ronald Reagan Center at Tropical Park in Westchester for the International Agriculture, Horse & Cattle Show. Perfect for all ages, the event showcases cattle and horse shows and offers a glimpse of farm life with animals, plants and crops. There’s also a fun Kids Zone, music, food trucks and even a car show. This event has a charitable purpose, with all proceeds going to the South Florida Autism Charter School. Baynanza Biscayne Bay Cleanup. (April 15) How about we give some of our time and effort to the place that brings so much joy to our lives? On April 15, from 9 a.m. to noon, join an army of volunteers at 31 locations across Miami-Dade County working to clean up the bay’s shorelines. Volunteers will receive a free T-shirt, and students can earn community service hours. For more info, click HERE.
