It’s been a real rollercoaster for our state. If Hollywood tried to come up with a movie with the most up and downs, it would still fall short compared to what we’ve been through. All jokes apart, we’ve struggled with recent tragedies, but if there’s one thing we know how to do is cope, rise, and adapt. Life is short, right?
September, the month before all the Halloween-Thanksgiving-Christmas extravaganza begins. A time to reflect, enjoy, and think outside the box when it comes to having fun. As usual, we have a small taste below of what’s coming in the following weeks. Dare to do something different this time!
• The Sounds of Movies. September 18th. Location: FIU Wertheim Concert Hall
We’ve learned to enjoy and love movie soundtracks pretty much as we love the movie itself. How can we forget such iconic songs such as the ones from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Robin Hood, or Jaws? • Superblue Miami. Location: 1101 NW 23 Street
Miami, FL 33127. What is it? You may ask—a massive 50,000-square-foot art space dedicated to the production of experiential mediums. Featuring brand new works by some of the art world’s most notable artists, the groundbreaking venture challenges perceptions, heightens the senses, and generally wows with its thoughtfully curated exhibition. The Suspension program at Superblue Miami is a rotating series of site-specific artworks that elicit disbelief and provoke engagement with the ordinary environment, rendered extraordinary. • Ogle street art at the Wynwood Walls. Location: 266 NW 26th St, Miami, FL 33127. This is the city’s first and only outdoor museum dedicated to street art. Check out the most fantastic graffiti with a roster of more than 50 murals (painted by worldwide renowned artists). • 8th Annual Flamenco Sephardit. September 26th. Maestro Jeffrey Eckstein and Siempre Flamenco announce their return to Miami Beach for the 8th consecutive year. Featuring a cast of international opera stars, guitarists, flamenco masters, and distinguished classical musicians, Flamenco Sephardit promises audiences a deeply emotional and transcendent experience. Are you excited yet? We are too! We have our NFL Dolphins home opener on September 19th vs. the Buffalo Bills. The Billboard Latin Music Week is also coming with lots of events and things to watch.
