Collektives members accidentally found each other through suggestions of friends that their interest and passion in music could form a magical sound. As fate would have it, Dec 2018 marked the beginning of a musical journey as the Collektives was official a name and immediately began receiving bookings. Hailing from the melting pot capital of the USA, the band members all have a unique style, background and history that they bring to the mix that creates the Collektives sound. The set list at events plays like a beautiful soundtrack to life that will create nostalgia and cause you to move or sway.
Vocalist, Tatiana Blades, is a Miami native with a big family name to live up to. Her raw instrument has an incredible power and technical proficiency that leaves a listener feeling enchanted. Listening to her you will find a truly sensitive artist that has the power to provoke a profound response within you. Band mates, Eddie Gatoe and Joe Hernandez, former members of rock band, Dyslexic Postcards, have reunited to create a different and stylized version of their rock and latin backgrounds. Antonio Frei provides the heart beat to each song by laying the foundation as the bands bass player. Together, they breath new life into cult classics, new alternative releases and their own original music to offer a sound and experience that is both new and familiar.
You can find the Collektives each 4th Wednesday of the month at Bar Nancy (Calle Ocho). Additional performances are updated and added to the event calendar. The Collektives are set to record originalโs : โ NOLA – Honky Tonkโ, โ I guess I donโt know what love isโ and others this April of 2020. Lead Vocalist, Tatiana Blades, is currently working with producers at OutterReach Studios on Single โLet me Sleep and an EP release estimated for release some time in 2020. All releases will be available via Spotify and ITunes.
