Ultra Miami Virginia Key Beach

Ultra Music Festival Miami is one of the top electronic dance music festivals worldwide. Ultra Miami is the most searched festival on several internet platforms. This year an issue with downtown Miami residents, the location has been relocated from Bayfront Park to a bigger, better spot: Virginia Key Beach Park.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people from around the world travel to Miami to witness the world’s most recognized electronic music event that transforms Miami into an electronic music paradise. Just last year, over 1,200 artists performed at 300 events. The 2019 version won’t disappoint fans as it promises a week-long marathon of parties that will welcome every major artist in the dance music scene.

In November, Miami commissioners allowed Ultra to move to city-owned property after it had rejected a new deal for the festival to remain at Bayfront Park Park. The homeowners association, which represents people living between the Miami River and the Rickenbacker Causeway, is raising an argument focusing on the city’s legal definition of its agreement with Ultra. So they allegedly are not worried about the traffic or noise the festival drags in, but on the legal aspect of it.

This statement could be questionable since over the past years Miami’s nightlife scene has faced close scrutiny and a visible change in attitude from the community that gets directly affected or surrounds the events and venues. This year, the city definitely spoke its voice out.

The Miami City Commission of Planning and Zoning voted unanimously against the contract that would have kept Ultra Miami at Bayfront Park in 2019. They were forced out of the venue and sent on the search for a new spot. Organizers issued a statement over Twitter:

“We are naturally disappointed with the outcome of today’s Miami City Commission meeting. We are still working with officials and the local residents on establishing a resolution that works for everyone…
…The outcome of today’s meeting with the Miami City Commission does not mark the end of Ultra in Miami, and we look forward to staging the 21st edition of the Ultra Music Festival as planned, March 29th-31st, 2019.
We appreciate your patience and thank you for your support.”

Ultra will take place from the 29th until the 31st of March 2019 at Virginia Key, Miami. The main stage and the megastructure will be located at the historic Virginia Key Beach Park and at Miami Marine Stadium making Ultra Miami 2019 the biggest edition yet. Because of the new location, there will be free shuttle buses for all the attendants. Check out the lines on their official webpage.

The stunning beauty of Virginia Key will be the cherry on top of the pie for this incredible experience who vows to reinvent itself each year. The grand finale will include Dennis Cruz, David Guetta, Party Favor, Sasha, and Rezz, among many others. The listed venues encompass Aftermarket Miami, Mondrian South Beach, the National Hotel, the Shore Club and more.
